Make-up artists were Sheila Kenny and Brid Harty; hair local stylists Pearl Young and Caroline Harkin, these professional ladies enhanced the beauty of our volunteer models giving the shops perfect models for showcasing their fantastic range of clothes.
Music and lighting provided by local DJ David Butler, MC on the night Micháel Tierney. Both men did a very professional job and added immensely to the enjoyment of the fashion show. Photographers on the night were Mike Ryan and Mandy Harkin what can I say a picture is worth a thousand words and again they did a great job.
The night started with a cheese and wine reception supplied by Tipperary Co-Op and Gleeson Group. Local stalls plying their wares on the night also added to the experience. We had a best dressed lady competition, prize €100 voucher for First Editions. Winner on the night was Fiona Looby who was up against some stiff competition. It wasn’t an easy job for the judges. A raffle was also ran with three lovely hampers from Proctor & Gamble, En Paris voucher, jewellery from Templemore Jewellers, chocolates and wine from Toomevara Aloe Vera.
Borris-Ileigh Camogie Club members were all involved in staging of this event. Firstly they got venue, shops on board, tickets sold, modelled, helped with make up/hair, helped on the night with wine, raffle door, stage, organised models etc.. Thanks to all the businesses, volunteers, people who were who supported us on the night and people who bought tickets. Thanks also for all the positive feedback received during the week, it is lovely to hear such compliments. It was a successful night for the Camogie Club.

There will be a Mission in our Parish from the 30th November next to the 6th of December. It will be conducted by the Redemptorist Mission Team. For it to be successful it will need the co-operation and support of all parishioners, with time to plan and prepare. With this in mind there will be an Open Parish Meeting with the Mission Team on Wednesday May 8th at 8pm in the Community Centre to which all parishioners are invited. Your presence and your input are important. Please come and encourage others to come as well.

Borrisoleigh Community Development Association would like to thank all those who supported this year’s spring clean. This includes all the adults and children who turned up on Monday evening and during the day on Monday, to pick litter from around the town and graveyard. Thanks also for the support of North Tipperary County Council and An Taisce for the supply of gloves, bags, litter pickers etc. Once again we’ve collected two horse trailers of litter from the town and approach roads. Thanks again to all the volunteers who gave up their time and energy to make Borrisoleigh a cleaner, greener more beautiful place to live. This year’s Spring Clean was the largest to date.
