We’ve waited all winter for this!!
Club Plan: On Wednesday 6th of February we shall be holding an open meeting in the Marian Hall at 7:30pm in regard to forming a 5 year strategic club plan. This is a new venture coming from Croke Park where they encourage clubs to put forward ideas with the hope of producing a detailed 5 year plan. Ideas shall be trashed out across a variety of topics and tables. We really hope as many people as possible shall attend as it is very important to get a large turnout on the night. All we want is your ideas and a small bit of your time.
White Collar Boxing: Another week of training brings us a week closer to the bout of Borris and Drom. Training is ongoing and as of this past weekend tickets are now available. We encourage people to purchase early as demand is strong already and there will not be tickets available on the night. We are also holding a launch night in Stapletons on Friday night at 9:30. You will get a chance to meet all the boxers and see some of the promotion. There shall also be live music on the night; we hope to see you there.
Pitch: It was come to our attention that people have being using the hurling field as a running track. While we always encourage fitness and use of the park, we ask those running to keep to outside the white lines as there has been extensive damage done to the pitch. A lot of money has been spent recently on re-sodding and we do not want our work to have been in vain.
A clean and eager bunch before the start!!
Well done to a group of our members from Borrisoleigh, Templederry and Templemore who took part in the Hell and Back 10K Challenge on Sunday 3rd February in the Kilruddery Estate, Co Wicklow. This event involves running through, over and under various different types of terrain, including the Little Sugar Loaf Mountain, The Pond, The River, Satan’s Pit and The Swamp. And if that wasn’t enough, you must also scale 7 foot walls, crawl under barbed wire and run through Shock of Horrors where you will get a nice little electric shock! Our team were in good company as Minister for Transport, Tourism & Sport, Leo Varadkar was also getting down and dirty himself on the day. Well done folks!!
Our weekly training sessions continue each Thursday night at the Athletic Track in Templemore Town Park at 8.00pm. 2013 Membership €20 will be taken this Thursday from 7.30pm in the Clubhouse. New members welcome.
