Cheque presentation to Haven
A note from Enda
On Saturday 27th March I attended a briefing meeting for Haven volunteers in advance of our departure for Haiti on 25th April. Haven staff gave us more information about the practical side of Build it Week and we got to see the tents we will be staying in. The tents will accomodate 6 people on camp beds complete with mosquito nets – but by the time you get 6 people with their bags into the tent it will be fairly cosy!!!
Anyway, I took the opportunity to get a photo taken showing how much I had raised up to that point. The 2 people in the photo with me are Maurice Healy who sits on the Board of the Haven Community Foundation and Olive Cummins who is Haven’s Operations Director. As you can see the cheque shows an amazing €14,085. There is still some money to come in but that is the majority of it anyway. People have been amazingly generous and I’m looking forward to getting out to Haiti and getting stuck in!!!
Thanks,
Enda
