Childline Breakfast Morning at St. Theresa’s N.S.
On October 6th the Staff and members of the Parents Association participated in the Cheerios Childline Breakfast morning. Each child brought their cereal bowl and spoon to school and indulged in a breakfast of cereal, milk, toast and sausages and water. It was a new experience and the children were wildly excited. Fr. Barry set the scene with ‘Grace’ before and after meals. Donations of over €300 were received and we sincerely thank the parents for their generous sponsorship. Childline phone in’ is the only service of its kind in the country for children.and is a worthy cause no doubt.
The Staff would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Shanahan’s Foodmarket, O’Dwyer Butchers, and Tipperary Sring Water for the food and drinks supplied. We would also like to acknowledge our very supportive Parents Association, expecially, Mary, Frances, Claire, Paula & Triona who worked with the staff preparing the food. Mile buíochas do gach duine.

Borris-Ileigh U12 Hurling Panel runners up U12 Plate 2009
On Saturday the U12s played Roscrea in Toomevara in the second Plate final and in a great game of hurling there was never much between the sides. Despite going in a goal down at half time we were confident our young lads would give it a go in the second half and so they did. An early point from Roscrea gave them a four point lead but Borris came back to score two fine goals to lead by 2 points with seven minutes to go. However, a goal and then a point from a free gave Roscrea a bit of breathing space and they went on to win the game by 4-3 to 3-0.
