Borrisoleigh Active Social Club
Borrisoleigh Active Social Club headed off to the Nicholas Mosse pottery factory in Bennettsbridge and to Arboretum Home and Garden Centre Leighlinbridge Carlow last Friday. We had a lovely day . The bus was loaded with plants/flowers coming home so our members were going to avail of the good weather over the weekend and get planting. Thanks to Seamus our bus driver from Callanans who was very helpful on the day. We are already looking forward to our next trip.
There is a group heading to The Source Thurles this Thursday to see Declan Nerney and friends in concert. Hopefully they will have a great night.

The pilgrimage begins with Anointing of the Sick in the Basilica at 2.30pm, followed by Mass at 3pm and Rosary Procession after Mass, weather permitting. Main celebrant and homilist will be Archbishop Francis Duffy. We invite you to join us in Knock to celebrate the gift of life and to pray for the protection of all human life.

Thought for the week
Life is like a piano. White keys are the happy moments & the black keys are the sad moments. Both keys are played together to give us the sweet music called life.

Book Launch
Many thanks to all of Borrisoleigh that turned out in such numbers to support the launching of the book, – “Mariupol, – A City of Grief and Fear” — The book gives harrowing accounts by people that survived the siege of that city.
Borris-Ileigh GAA History Book
Hi all,
I’ve been tasked with compiling and writing a history of GAA activity in the primary schools, e.g. North Finals/ County Finals, Primary Game, INTO mini sevens etc.
The more recent history is fairly well documented, however older records are sparse. I don’t want to leave anyone out!
If you are aware of any noteworthy GAA related facts from 1987 to present in relation to Fantane NS, St Theresa’s GNS, St Patrick BNS or Scoil Naomh Cualán please get in contact with me at scoilnaomhcualan@gmail.com. Or you can drop photos, newspaper cuttings etc. into the school and I’ll photocopy or scan what’s needed.
I’m looking for photos of teams, photos of Primary Game representatives, write ups from finals, coaches that were involved over the years, pupils who went on to represent Tipperary in the various codes, GAA quiz winners etc.
Many thanks for your help,
Michael Small
