Borris-Ileigh Camogie Club Notes

 
 
St. Joseph’s through to Munster Final
The St. Joseph’s College camogie teams have been in flying form in recent weeks and following a superb display against Castletroy of Limerick, the senior team have now qualified for the Munster Final. 
The final score was St. Joseph’s Borrisoleigh 4-14 Castletroy 0-07.
 
The junior team were also in semi-final action but despite a brilliant second half comeback display, it wasn’t to be and the girls just fell short by the narrowest of margins.
The final score was St. Joseph’s Borrisoleigh 5-03 Carrignavar Cork 3-10. 
 
Adjourned AGM
Our club Adjourned AGM will be held in the old pavilion on Tuesday night next at 8:30pm. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. 
 
A Mile with a Smile
Details of our upcoming club fundraiser entitled “A Mile with a Smile” will be released soon. In the meantime, dust the cobwebs off the runners and prepare to run, jog or walk a mile for us between the 17th and 20th of March. 
 
So Near for Drom-Inch
A fantastic effort from our near neighbours Drom-Inch saw them fall just short of achieving back to back Munster Club titles when they were defeated right at the death by Scariff Ogonnelloe in Mallow last Saturday.
Defeat might have been their lot on the day but as a club, they can feel extremely proud of the way they’ve been representing Tipperary camogie in recent times.
 
Best of Luck to Knockavilla:
Mallow is again the venue for the Munster Intermediate Final on Saturday next and we would like to wish the very best of luck to Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams as they go in quest of glory against the reigning champions and Deise representatives Gailitir.

Ensure to book in early, the workshop in February was oversubscribed!

Below are the objectives that can be achieved by attending this one evening course:

  • Understand the components of a grant opportunity and to recognise if a grant opportunity is suitable for your group.
  • Develop the attitude and skills needed to write competitive grant proposals successfully.
  • How to manage the challenges of writing a successful grant application.
  • Gain competence in writing typical grant components, including a statement of need, implementation strategies, monitoring & evaluation, classify outcomes & impact, budget attachments, and an executive summary.

St Joseph’s College Borrisoleigh 

Warmest congratulations to our Deputy Principal, Ms. Duignan, who has been awarded the Gaisce – The President’s Award Civic Merit Award.

This Award is in recognition of the support, encouragement and belief that Ms. Duignan has shown our many students to be the very best version of themselves. The impact she has had on the lives of these students is truly immeasurable.

Our Principal, Mr. McCarthy presented a pin and a certificate to Ms. Duignan, on behalf of the President, at assembly.

                                                                                                                                  

Clothing Collection

Clear Out your Wardrobe for the New Year and help St. Joseph’s College ! 

 
We all have items of clothing in our wardrobes that we haven’t worn in ages but just haven’t gotten around to parting with yet. Well today’s the day to pop them in a bag and drop them to St. Josephs to help raise funds for our school. 
 
Only clean, dry clothing in good condition please. Just drop to the school between 6th and 26th Jan 2022. Thank you!
