Borrisoleigh Active Social Club
Borrisoleigh Active Social Club were delighted to receive an invitation from the Office of the Secretary General to the President of Ireland to view the presentation of Credentials by new Ambassadors.

The Borrisoleigh festival 2017 was officially launched tonight in Coffeys bar. It was attended by Brenda Ryan of Ryan’s pub in Camden St. Dublin who is the main sponsor of the festival again this year.
We also had the inauguration of our new Lord Mayor Mr. Paddy Dolan. After a few words from our Chairman Joe Loughnane, outgoing mayor Mrs Patrice Cooney presented the chain to Paddy. Following this we had music from All Ireland Senior Scór winner Katie Shanahan.

Borris-Ileigh Camogie Club
U12’s have been very busy and played two games last week.
The 1st against Arravale Rovers on Monday resulted in a narrow defeat. Final Score: Borris-Ileigh 1-01, Arravale Rovers 1-06. Scores from: Ava Bevans 0-01 & Aoife Fitzgerald 1-00.
2nd game took place on Friday against Templemore. This game was neck and neck throughout, and resulted in a win by one point. Final Score Borris-Ileigh 7-03 to Templemore 6-05. Scores from: Aoife Fitzgerald 4-00, Emma Quigley 2-00, Ava Bevans 1-02 & Emma Maher 0-01. Well done girls.
This team have now secured a place in the shield semi-final, on Weds June 14th at the Camogie Grounds, The Ragg.

U10’s played a challenge against Drom on Saturday, victory was for Borris on the day. Well done girls.

Borris-Ileigh GAA Club Notes
Junior:
Our Juniors had a very convincing win over Knockshegowna last Friday night in Round 6 of the North Tipperary Junior Hurling League. They were victorious on a scoreline of 5-13 to 1-14. A great way to finish off a testing league campaign serving as a great confidence booster heading into the championship. The team that took to the field was as follows, Seamus Burke.

Upcoming Fixtures:
Our Seniors have been drawn to play Toomevara in the quarter finals of the North Senior Hurling Championship. This game has fixed for Sunday the 11th of June at 2pm in Nenagh. With a semi final spot at stake it is sure to be a hotly contested game against our neighbours and rivals. After great wins for our U12 team over Newport last Friday night we now play Nenagh in the next round of the North ‘A’ Championship on the 9th of June in Nenagh.

Volunteers needed to help with the upkeep of flowerbeds in the village. Meet in the town park every Wednesday from 9.30-11a.m. We would also like to ask people to be vigilant and on the watch out, as flowers planted in the raised bed in the community park have been taken.
