Dolphins Rule Supreme

Track-Attack’s hugely successful “Beat the Clock” event on Thursday night last culminated in an excellent victory for the Dolphins team. Spearheaded by two excellent young athletics prospects in Colm O’Meara and Moira Meehan, the victorious outfit came within 38 seconds of their combined finishing prediction to claim the title that was kindly sponsored by Dr Delargy/Morrissey GP Practice.

The youthful duo were ably abetted by Ailbe Cummins and Edel Minogue to make up the winning quartet. Overall we saw some outstanding performances with many of the participating field finishing in times that were impressively faster than their predictions.

As well as the winning team receiving their prizes, four further prizes were awarded to the four individuals who finished closest to their predictions. The victors of these were Daniel Madden, Harry Maher, Niamh Keane and Moira Maher.

Munster Glory for Cian

It was a brilliant day for Cian Cowan and his Templemore A/C teammates at the recent Munster Cross Country Relay Championships in Turnpike. After a brilliant team performance from gun to tape, the talented quartet were crowned Munster Under 12 Champions.

A huge congratulation to Cian, a fantastic athletic prospect for the future.

                                                                                             ————————————————————————————————-

Hi all,

I’ve been tasked with compiling and writing a history of GAA activity in the primary schools, e.g. North Finals/ County Finals, Primary Game, INTO mini sevens etc.

The more recent history is fairly well documented, however older records are sparse. I don’t want to leave anyone out!

If you are aware of any noteworthy GAA related facts from 1987 to present in relation to Fantane NS, St Theresa’s GNS, St Patrick BNS or Scoil Naomh Cualán please get in contact with me at scoilnaomhcualan@gmail.com. Or you can drop photos, newspaper cuttings etc. into the school and I’ll photocopy or scan what’s needed.

I’m looking for photos of teams, photos of Primary Game representatives, write ups from finals, coaches that were involved over the years, pupils who went on to represent Tipperary in the various codes, GAA quiz winners etc.

Many thanks for your help,

Michael Small
