Scoil Naomh Cualán

There was great excitement today as all the children and staff returned to Scoil Naomh Cualán.  A very special welcome to our 21 new junior infants.  Also we had 6 other students that joined other classes within our school.  We are all looking forward to a fruitful year ahead.

Borrisoleigh Active and Social Club

Our group had a very enjoyable afternoon at Bunratty on Friday last, where we visited the famous Bunratty Castle & Folk Park which took us back to our childhood days & beyond. And others paid a visit to Dirty Nelly’s. Later we assembled at the barn for the Ceílí in the Kitchen where we were welcomed by the Fear an Tí & received a Crème Liqueur or Mead Wine on arrival, we were seated in groups in the traditional kitchen where the Seisiún began, this was a combination of traditional song & dance & storytelling by a wonderfully talented group of people both young & not so young, who really connected with our group & included us in the entertainment on the night. We were served a traditional Irish meal which was delicious. We returned home to Borrisoleigh with a ‘sing song’ on the bus, I think it’s safe to say, ‘A great day was had by all!’

Our next outing is a 3-night trip to Breaffy House Resort & Spa Hotel, in Mayo, leaving on Sunday 16th October & returning on Wednesday 19th. Names may be given to Lucia on 086 3961211 or Eileen on 087 9849848.

We resume our monthly meetings after a long break due to Covid on Wednesday 7th September at 7pm in the parish centre. New members are always welcome.
