Mary’s Meals
My name is Fr Eamonn Kelly, and I am parish priest in the parish of Raphoe, (Donegal). I also help with Mary’s Meals, a charity that presently feeds 2,429,182 children in their place of education each school day. For the past eleven years we have walked to Knock Shrine to raise awareness of, and funds for, Mary’s Meals. We are now launching Step by Step to Feed the Next Child 2024. We have walks originating in Malin (Donegal), Thurles, Cavan, the Spire (Dublin), Kilkenny, Longford, Limerick and N Ireland. All walks go from 7 August to 15 August. We are seeking people to help us create new walks, join us for a day or half day or a few hours, collect, take a sponsor card or promote the walk. It cost €22 to give a child a meal each day in school for a school year and every eleven cents raised provides a meal. This is a great way of gaining a bit of fitness and doing great work at the same time. If you would like more information or to get involved, I would love to hear from you. My contact details are: Eamonn Kelly (Rev), Parochial House, Convoy, Co Donegal, F93HX2R, eamonnkelly1949@gmail.com or 0879077985.

Australian Visitors
A pleasure to welcome from far away Australia, Monica Rankin and members of her family. Monica’s ancestors, Ryans of Glebe House and Russell of Summerhill settled in North Queensland where they worked an extensive farming enterprise and also operated a thriving quarrying business.
Borris-Ileigh GAA History Book
Hi all,
I’ve been tasked with compiling and writing a history of GAA activity in the primary schools, e.g. North Finals/ County Finals, Primary Game, INTO mini sevens etc.
The more recent history is fairly well documented, however older records are sparse. I don’t want to leave anyone out!
If you are aware of any noteworthy GAA related facts from 1987 to present in relation to Fantane NS, St Theresa’s GNS, St Patrick BNS or Scoil Naomh Cualán please get in contact with me at scoilnaomhcualan@gmail.com. Or you can drop photos, newspaper cuttings etc. into the school and I’ll photocopy or scan what’s needed.
I’m looking for photos of teams, photos of Primary Game representatives, write ups from finals, coaches that were involved over the years, pupils who went on to represent Tipperary in the various codes, GAA quiz winners etc.
Many thanks for your help,
Michael Small
