Borrisoleigh Festival 2017
Borrisoleigh festival committee would like to thank everyone who helped make the festival weekend a success. We would like to thank our main sponsor Ryan’s of Camden St. and all the businesses who took out adverts in our booklet. Thanks to Phil Maher for his help also with the book. We would like to thank the Gardaí especially Garda Martina Kelly for all her help, support and advice leading up to and during the festival. To all the stewards and helpers in the community centre and with the BBQ a big thank you for all your help. Thanks also to Brian Farrell. Thanks to those who helped Declan put up and take down the lighting. A word of thanks also to Fr. Liam Everard for allowing us to use the church grounds for the children’s entertainment and to the community centre committee for the use of the centre. May we take this opportunity to wish Fr. Liam the best of luck in his new parish.
We would like to thank all the musicians who entertained us so well over the weekend. Thanks to Johnny Maher for providing the trailer for the stage again this year, to Ebony for the sound equipment, to Sheila Ryan, Tipperary Rose for attending, and to Paddy Dolan, our new mayor for his lovely singing to Tipperary Rose. We would like to wish Sheila the best of luck in the Rose of Tralee.
Bush & Briars Ramblers
Thanks to Bush & Briar Ramblers for providing the lovely scenic walk on the Sunday morning, to Suzanne & the line dancers for their entertainment and to those who took a stall at our food fair. Thanks to everyone who helped out with the children’s entertainment, Borrisoleigh Bouncy castles, Pet Party, Matthew Ryan DJ, to the transition year students who helped out and to the parents who supervised the disco. Borrisoleigh Historical Society
Internet and Email Computer Class
Internet and e-mail computer classes is starting up in early September in Borrisoleigh Community Centre through ETB (Education & Training Board). Only few places left.
If anyone is interested in this classes please contact the community centre office at 0504 50643 Thursday and Friday 9am – 1pm.

Junior:
Our Juniors managed to keep their unbeaten record intact in this years North ‘A’ Championship after a very entertaining draw against Toomevara last Friday evening in Toomevara. A hotly contested encounter with never more than a puck of the ball between the teams the whole way through it finished on a scoreline of 3-13 to 2-16.
Well done to all involved.
Upcoming Fixtures:
The Seniors will take on Nenagh in the County League Semi Final this Sunday the 30th of July in McDonagh Park in Nenagh at 2pm.
Our U14’s will take on Borrsokane in the next round of the North ‘B’ Championship. /this game will take place on Wednesday the 26th of July in Borrisoleigh
The Minor’s have there next outing in the North ‘B’ hurling championship this week. They will come up against Ballinahinch/Templederry in Round 5 of the group stage on Thursday the 27th of July in the Park, Borrisoleigh at 7pm.
We would also like to congratulate or U12 ‘A’ on progressing the North Semi Final after a great win in last Friday’s Quarter Final over Moneygall. The won out on a score line of 6-7 to 2-1. They will now play there Semi Final on the 28th of July.
